Somalia attack turns symbol of resurgence into one of grief
seattlepi
Abdi Guled, Associated Press
Updated 4:20 pm, Friday, January 22, 2016
Witnesses said the Islamic extremists entered the restaurant from the beach Thursday evening, shouting "Allahu akbar," Arabic for "God is great," as they fired at people indiscriminately.
On Friday, relatives were identifying the dead, who numbered around 20. The bodies were laid out on the sand, their heads covered by yellow tablecloths, many soaked with blood. Some family members burst into tears upon discovering the body of a loved one.
One woman beat her chest, whispering the name of her son who was killed in the attack. She collapsed as his bloodied body was transported into an ambulance.
"They randomly fired at people sitting near the beach before entering the restaurant," said Ahmed Nur, who was strolling along the shoreline when the attack happened. A party had been taking place when the attack started.
After identifying the dead, relatives carried bodies away.
The Liido Seafood restaurant was littered with blood-stained, overturned chairs, tables, shoes and bullet casings, the walls scarred from bullet impacts and blackened with soot.
The attack came a week after al-Shabab overran a Kenyan army base in Somalia, signaling the group's resilience despite military setbacks inflicted by a U.S.-backed regional force operating in the country.
On a normal Friday, Liido Beach would be packed with hundreds of people surfing, swimming and strolling along the white sand. On this day, armed soldiers stood guard near the beach. Fishing boats that would normally transport picnickers drifted at anchor in the blue waters.
"It's a sad day, whenever a hope comes up it gets dashed by such attacks. This city's future is precarious," said Mumina Ahmed, a Somali-American who returned to Mogadishu last week after 14 years in Virginia.
Somali Security Minister Abdirizak Omar Mohamed said the suspected leader of the attack has been arrested.
The assault on civilians relaxing along the beachfront echoed an attack by an Islamic extremist at a tourist beach in Tunisia last year. Several dozen people, mostly Britons, died in that slaughter.
Survivors of the Liido Seafood attack said that militants forced restaurant's guests onto the ground before randomly killing them.
"I hid myself downstairs in the bathroom until troops came to my rescue. It was a terrible night," said Abdiqani Guled
Mohamed was wounded in the attack, and on Friday the little boy's right arm and neck were bandaged as he lay on a hospital bed, as a new generation came to know the violence that has afflicted this Horn of Africa nation for more than two decades.
His aunt, Halima Hassan, tended to Mohamed, who gazed up at her with big eyes.
The security forces took control of the restaurant just before dawn, said Capt. Mohamed Hussein, speaking from the scene.
Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, in a broadcast on its online radio late Thursday.
Some people spent terrifying hours at the scene, not knowing if they would live to see the dawn.
"I was intending to go out but suddenly we heard a heavy explosion followed by gunfire. ... I saw a militant fighter shooting indiscriminately at everybody. Then I locked myself inside a room until we were evacuated peacefully by the security forces," said Abdulkadir Mohamed Somow, who had been trapped inside the restaurant.
Blasts and bursts of gunfire could be heard as Somali special forces went from room to room, pursuing the al-Shabab gunmen.
Hussein, the police official, said security forces rescued many people who had been trapped.
While al-Shabab fighters fled Mogadishu in 2011 under pressure from an African Union military force, they have managed to carry out sporadic bombings and shootings in the capital and launch coordinated attacks against AU forces in the countryside.
Al-Shabab attacked Kenyan peacekeepers in southwestern Somalia last week, and overran their base. The al-Qaida-linked group said it had killed about 100 Kenyans and seized weapons and military vehicles. The Kenyan government has given no death toll.

Evangelical Pastor convinced followers his penis contained HOLY MILK, arrested!!!
Now this one has got to be an all time worst Everything Is Going Down, But The Word Of God reports….
This is worst than the woman that took the stand in court and said it was her Godly duty to allow Bishop Earl Pulk to have sex with her while she was married to one of the elders at the church. However the following report coming out of Brazil takes the cake! Read it below:
BRAZIL – January 28, 2013 – Religion is a virus. The world is quickly finding out the damage and crimes that the Vatican and its little harlots – all other religions – have caused worldwide.
Just when you think you had heard it all, another malicious and alarming crime committed by a criminal priest, nun, minister or pastor, surfaces. This one has to be one of the most shocking yet…an Evangelical Pastor managed to abuse victims after convincing them that his penis contains HOLY MILK. The criminal: Valdeci Sobreni Picano of Brazil.
Valdeci Sobrino Picanto is a Brazilian Evangelical Pastor. He has been arrested after deceiving the faithful using the name of the “Holy Spirit”, by using these foolish lies. This criminal pastor claimed that the Holy Spirit would secrete from his penis in the form of “sacred milk”. This pastor said that his penis was blessed and that “the Lord had consecrated him with divine milk of the Holy Spirit” and, of course, he had to release it in order to “evangelize”. “He has convinced us that only God could come into our lives through our mouth and that’s why he would do what he did”. Often, after worship, pastor Valdeci would take us to the where the funds were kept at the back of the Church and asked us to have Oral sex with him until the Holy Spirit would come through ejaculation”. This is the testimony of one of his victims. This pastor is already in jail where, he said when they arrested him, that he intends to continue watering his cellmates with his sacred milk. Note: This news article was originally reported today in Spanish by Que.es The great news is that the Protect Your Children Foundation in collaboration with Vatican Crimes Exposed will continue to expose these evil and perverse men who utilize the name of Christ to gain trust and commit crimes. Visit: http://www.jh.to/organizedcrime to learn of the organized crime implemented by the Vatican around the world against millions of children.

It is only a mad man who can't differentiate
between right and wrong
A
mad man is not just a mad man, a wasted human being good for nothing,
but the mad person play a bigger roll in our life, if we can only think
wisely and try to analyze and find out the truth and the secret behind
these type of people, the fact is they were not meant to be useless,
hopeless, inefficient and a burden to others, as the way we see it, or
the way it seems to be, but these mad people are there as trail for
others, we have been tested by the creator who created us all. If we
spend sometime with these mad or crazy people and try to know them
better and understand their situation, problems and difficulties that
they are under going it doesn't matter how much time we spend thinking,
studying or analyzing everything concerning them and their behaviors at
the end we will find ourselves deeply in the kingdom of God, you will
see these very people lead you all the way to the lord the almighty God
of the universe, if you are among those positive thinkers you will
definitely go into deep prayer and you will always thank God for
creating you as a normal human being, arriving at the point you will be
blessed and your sins will be forgiven and you will be changed and
become someone who strive in the course of God whom He obeys and you
will be someone who does all kind of good deeds just for the sake of God
and indeed you will achieve the highest achievement .
in
fact these disable people whither they are blind, deaf or mentally
sick, they were not created so that they suffer in this world, but they
are signs and reflectors and a total guidance that will remind us about
the creator who decided to give us what He did not give them, the
Almighty wants you to find Him in all his creatures around you anywhere
at anytime so that you can easily turn back to him with all these
uncountable bless that he has favored you with, God wants you to be wise
and be the one who will always think and remember Lord and when it
comes to worshiping the Lord, we should be among those who waste no time
at all, and always seek his mercy and guidance in all matters
concerning our daily life.
Whenever
we come across these kinds of people, God wants us to be reflectors of
all his mercy and goodness and kindness, their disability will bring us
closer to God, the more we become closer and attached to them, the more
we will fill the closeness of the Lord.
The
necessary preliminaries to a better understanding of human behavior is
to think positively and it is always better and wise to have a positive
approach to all matters, and you have to have the ability to see
whatever that might arrive and come with these human behaviors, whether
it is good or bad.
To
find out about what these human behaviors really leads to, is something
to do with using your brain and think properly, and ask yourself simple
questions. Human behavior is something that has two ways system, and
each system belongs or will lead you to a totally different world that
has got nothing to do with each other, just like the day and night, I
believe we don't need to carry a sport light during the day so that it
can help us to see where we are going.
Verily
the brain that thinks is blessing and great favor, If you can change
the way you think you can easily change your life. A good habit is not
easy to choose and it is not going to come to you automatically, it
needs you to make the move and decide. First make up your mind and go
for the good habit then stand for it. Say this is what I want after all,
you will definitely feel happy you choose the good habit and you will
never regret it and you will always feel great and blessed. You will
feel relaxed deep inside and you will have the peace of mind that you
need. As for the bad habit it is so easy to get involved with, and you
will never know how it started. If you are not careful and think wisely
and ask yourself why am I doing this? You should always remember that
most of these bad habits are some kind of sins or things that will
deprive you of your peace of mind because you will feel ashamed and
you’ll feel bad about it sometimes you might even regret doing it for
the rest of your life.
Today
the whole world is in a total state of confusion. We don’t have the
sense of direction. Muslims and non Muslims alike and we actually fall
below humanity level, kindness and mercy have already faded away from
our hearts until we reached the lowest of the lowest below the beast
world. And even worst, because animals do have mercy even though we do
call them the wild beast but they are in fact far better than what they
seem to us human, because they are what they were meant to be and I
believe they are doing a great job for human, who have the capacity to
think and reason, we can learn from these animal and they can be a very
important source of knowledge and guidance, because God favored us and
gave us the ability and ways of seeking knowledge from our fellow human
beings, and the same time we can learn from the nature, animals and
insects. Almost everything that is surrounding us is a source of
knowledge and guidance, it is for human to make the move and take the
first step forward to discover the hidden world of power knowledge,
which are there for mankind to benefit from it.
The
brighter future for man kind is not something that anybody is going to
decide and with it the human will be at their highest level of state of
prosperities where each and everyone is going to enjoy freedom. That
will free the human being from poverty and all kind of evil practices
the truth is the solution of what is happening to our world today, the
truth is something that needs us to study it. In other words we need
knowledge. We don’t need empty words that will not throw light into the
darkness of the past and present. Where did we man kind go wrong, in the
past human fall in the trap of illusion and a man made system which was
full of errs, injustice, contradiction, slavery, and imperialism and
apartheid
That
is what communist, and Arab socialist had to offer the umma. Even
though millions of people dance for the tune of communist at that time,
and many innocent men and women ware killed simply because they were
against the system, the real positive changes that were promised the
people never last, because what the people wanted was never there, they
were forced to accept the communist as the only way for equality and a
better future for mankind, our life is based on changes and the changes
itself is a two way system, the positive one and the negative one, when
it comes to the positive changes, the good thing about it is, it doesn’t
come from evil and negative source, and nothing of that sort will come
out of it at all, the positive changes is real and it is here to stay
for ever, it needs men with open minded, kind and with big heart and who
believe in God, and believe he is the only source of the positive
changes, and nothing at all will bring these positive changes that we
need today? Not what these Alqaida men are trying to, even if 50,000,000
Muslims or more join them to fight this crazy war, it is not going to
bring the changes that we need, the changes itself is not even in the
hands of our leaders, the U.S, or the UN, and it is not either in the
democracy or the freedom that a lot of people are preaching nowadays.
The changes has to come from each one of us, we have to have clear
vision of what we want, and what we want to do, after all it is our
believe and deeds that will shape and decide our destination
First
of all we have to know is the truth and the truth is nothing more or less
than the existence of ‘GOD’.
Does God exist or not? Do we believe in him or not? If we do then what does ‘HE’ want us to do? Did ‘HE’ just create mankind and left them without guidance and purpose? God created a man and gave him the choice to decide what to do and not to do, and' HE’ made it clear for human being to notice, feel and see the good the bad and the evil exactly as they are, and He further made the good deeds, kindness, and patient to be the way of life for those who think and believe, verily it is the simple and easy way for them.
As for the bad deeds, oppression and evil was made easy for those who are wicked, arrogant and evil doers, those who never think and try their level best to reason and try to differentiate between the good and the bad, the false and the truth, so that makes them to be the evil and the wicked men, who do all kind of evil.

Sex trafficking brothel madam heads to federal prison
SFGATE
The madam of a brothel that operated in Houston's East
End for years was sentenced to life in federal prison Wednesday for her
role as the leader of an international sex-trafficking ring that forced
women and girls into prostitution.
Hortencia "Tencha" Medeles, 70, was convicted during a trial last year that exposed operations at Medeles's three building complex on Telephone Road.
A cantina was located downstairs, and hidden doorways and staircases led to a brothel upstairs where 17 rooms were rented out for sex.
Read about the disturbing scene that has remained frozen in time after the brothel was shut down in Dane Schiller's first person account on HoustonChronicle.com.
The number of men to come through there is staggering, with
records presented in court showing rooms were rented out 64,296 during a
19 month period ending in 2013. That is far more people than it would
take to fill Minute Maid Stadium's nearly 41,000 seats.
Medeles was sentenced by U.S. District Judge David Hittner.
THE BACKGROUND: Raids against sex trafficking ring land 13 behind bars
Houston is a major hub for sex trafficking due to its size, proximity to the border and large immigrant population.
The ring was built on the backs of women and teenagers who were smuggled into the United States from Mexico and Central American by smooth talking pimps who promised them love and marriage.
When they got to Houston, however, they were beaten, raped and threatened that they as well as their families back home would be killed if they did not perform or tried to escape.
"These girls came to the U.S. looking for their American dream, but instead they found their American nightmare," Assistant U.S. Attorney Ruben Perez told jurors during Medeles's trial. "It took guts for those girls to come here before you and tell you what happened to them."
THE TRIAL: Woman comes face to face with accused sex trafficker
At least 40 people have been prosecuted in connection with the brothel or other sex trafficking rings that are related to the case against Medeles. One man, Alfonso Diaz Juarez, remains a fugitive and is on the run from a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to his capture.
"What occurred here was absolutely modern day slavery," said Special Agent Shauna Dunlap, of the FBI's Houston Division. " These women and young girls were forced to commit unspeakable acts in deplorable conditions inside this cantina, and others," she continued. "The longer Diaz-Juarez eludes justice, the greater the chance more women may be victimized."
The FBI asks that persons with information about trafficking to
contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373- 7888.

Teaching migrants how to behave
BBC NEWS
Johanna
is one of those energetic, animated teachers whose cheerful energy
lures even the most reluctant pupil into engaging with the lesson. She
uses both her hands to stress her meaning and she always softens any
difficult points with a smile.
"So in Finland," she says softly, "you can't buy a wife. A woman will only be your wife if she wants to be - because here women are men's equals."
Her pupils, all recently arrived asylum seekers at this reception centre hidden away in the snowy depths of the Finnish forest, watch her carefully - and I watch them. Some of the young Iraqi men, who already speak good English and passable Finnish, nod sagely. Others, particularly the older men, stare at one another with raised eyebrows as Johanna's words are translated into Arabic for them. One man, hunkered down inside his black ski jacket seems to be taking notes while there's a faint smile on the lips of the only head-scarfed young woman in the room.
"But you can go out to the disco with a woman here," adds Johanna brightly. "Although remember, even if she dances with you very closely and is wearing a short skirt, that doesn't mean she wants to have sex with you."
A Somali teenager pulls his woolly hat over his ears and cradles his head in his hands as if his brain can't cope with all this new information.
"This is a very liberal country," he says incredulously. "We have a lot to learn. In my country if you make sexy with a woman you are killed!" He turns to his neighbour, a Malian man of a similar age to gauge his reaction.
"It's quite amazing," the Malian nods. "In my country a woman should not go out without her husband or brother."
Johanna turns her attention to homosexuality and the Iraqi men on the back row - it's always the back row - begin to giggle and snigger.
It might seem like a bit of a pantomime, but reception centres in Finland take these voluntary manners and culture classes extremely seriously. If men arriving from very different and conservative cultures are not immediately made aware that Finland has its own set of customs and rules which must be respected, then they will never integrate, warns Johanna.
The men may groan when she tells them that Finnish men share the housework, but they no longer baulk when they see their taxi driver is a woman. Since the autumn, when Johanna first started giving these classes, female asylum seekers frequently approach her to complain that their husbands are not treating them in the Finnish way. The men are also versed in Finnish criminal law so they know exactly what to expect if they touch a woman inappropriately.
And that's why these classes are backed by the interior ministry and the police. Last autumn three asylum seekers were convicted of rape in Finland, and at the new year there was a series of sexual assaults and harassments similar to those in Cologne and Stockholm. Victims reported that the perpetrators were of Middle Eastern appearance - something Helsinki's deputy chief of police, Ilkka Koskimaki decided to go public with.
"It's difficult to talk about," he admits as we drive in a patrol car through the icy streets of the city. "But we have to tell the truth. Usually we would not reveal the ethnic background of a suspect, but these incidents, where groups of young foreign men," as he puts it, "surround a girl in a public place and harass her have become a phenomenon."
The police van pulls up at a downtown reception centre where Koskimaki's preventive policing team give similar classes to Johanna's. A jumble of migrant men smoking on the snowy steps in flip-flops, hastily scarper indoors, clearly alarmed by the police presence. A muscly Iraqi man in gym kit approaches me cautiously and asks me in a whisper why I feel the need to visit the centre with three police bodyguards. Please, he pleads, please don't think all asylum seekers are dangerous because of a few criminals.
The lesson at Raasepoori reception centre is drawing to a close and the asylum seekers have been given optional homework to help them read up on Finland's sexual equality laws. As we leave the class, an Iraqi man in a colourful bomber jacket shakes my hand.
"It's great in Finland," he says "But when I marry, my wife will be a housekeeper who will cook the food I like - and she certainly won't go to discos."

Children forced into 'sexual activities' with animals
BBC NEWS
Some of the abuse, which was videoed on occasion, allegedly took place at a Birmingham hotel.
Judge Hilary Watson concluded it was "highly probable" the children had been forced to perform sex acts on animals.
"Such suggestions might seem fantastical but become a grim reality when seen in the context of my findings that the children have been made to perform sexual activities with each other," she wrote in her judgement.
She made a series of findings of facts after analysing evidence at a family court hearing in Coventry.

Judge Watson said Coventry City Council was the local authority with responsibility for the children and that four children aged between eight and 14 were at the centre of the inquiries.
The claims had been made about a man they knew, who denied the allegations.
Det Ch Insp Ian Green, from West Midlands Police, said three people were arrested in May 2015 on suspicion of rape, but were told they would face no further action in July.
"The case is currently being reviewed and the evidence heard at a recent civil court hearing will feature in that review," he said.
Coventry City Council declined to comment.

ISIS poster girl 'beaten to death' for trying to escape terrorists after pal was killed
A TEENAGE girl who fled to join Islamic State in Syria along with her friend has reportedly been beaten to death during an attempted escape from the terror group's self-styled capital, Raqqa.

The pair, of Bosnian-origin, became 'poster girls' for the jihadis after they arrived in the war zone last April.
But
sources in Austria are claiming that Samra, now aged 17, was murdered
by ISIS militants during a failed attempt to flee the city after she had
become disgusted by the brutal regime.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Thomas Schnöll told the Austria Press Agency: "We cannot comment on individual cases."
Her
friend Sabina was reported have died in December last year after a
high-ranking United Nations anti-terror expert claimed one of the girls
had been killed while the other was missing.
David
Scharia, from the UN Security Council, said at the time: "We received
information just recently about two 15-year-old girls, of Bosnian
origin, who left Austria, where they had been living in recent years;
and everyone, the families and the intelligence services of the two
countries, is looking for them.
"Both were recruited by Islamic State.
"One was killed in the fighting in Syria, the other has disappeared."
In September 2014, Austrian police also reported that one of the two jihadi girls was dead and the parents had been informed.
However,
the following month the teens reportedly contacted their families and
said they wanted to return home after seeing the brutal regime first
hand.
At the time both of the girls were said to be pregnant after marrying Chechen fighters soon after their arrival in Syria.
Police believe the teens travelled to the Turkish border in April 2014 and then went by car to Raqqa.
The pair were recruited after allegedly becoming radicalised through a cell led by unemployed Ebu Tejma, 33, in Vienna.
Tejma is alleged to have been involved in the radicalisation of a further 166 youngsters in Austria.
Photos
of both girls have appeared on social media with them holding
Kalashnikov rifles and surrounded by armed men, in an apparent attempt
to recruit other young girls to join ISIS.
