NORTH AMERICA
South Carolina: Associate Press reports US. failure to prevent student visa abuses. Many foreign students come to U.S. through a third party broker, and ended up working at strip club instead of restaurant. Some of them take less than $1 to home. Others live in a crowded room with no beds and eat on the floor. While the government auditor pointed out the problems of student visa program 20 years ago., the State department is now working on a new rules, according to the report.
Canada: Craigslist refuses to censure adult service section in Canada. An expert argues that while human trafficking abroad is a problem, it is just as bad in Canada. He also said that Craigslist not only the most useful too to buy and sell people but also have been the number one website in Canada for selling people.
Minnesota: New human trafficking task force is tackling human trafficking of Indian women in Duluth. The task force was formed this fall to identify victims and conduct research on human trafficking in Duluth. According to the task force coordinator, the problem of human trafficking is not limited to Indian community alone though cases of human trafficking are noticed by local Native Americans.
Massachusetts: Suffolk district attorney  seeks to protect child prostitution victims from prosecution. Six years ago, Suffolk law enforcement adopted a series of initiatives to protect minor prostitution victims from criminal prosecution. Now, the DA is trying to expand the protection by  bringing a legislation to Beacon Hill.
EUROPE
France: Police busted a ring which enslaved more than 100 Eastern European girls in the age between 14 and 16. The girls are forced to steal money from French and European tourists around metro in Paris. They were also placed in an extensive training before being put to work. The gangs also used threat, physical and sexual abuse to force them to work for the gangs. If the girls fail to bring a daily quota, the gangs hit the girls with weapon or fists. And, sometimes they raped the girls.
ASIA
Nepal: Police busted the kingpin of human trafficking ring on Saturday. He and his accomplice lured Nepalese women with a promise of jobs abroad and sold them to Indian brothels. His arrest was made after a victim who was rescued from the brothel reported to the police.
Kuwait: Kuwait is canceling sponsorship to combat human trafficking. According to a source, the elimination will alleviate labor exploitation of employees. It will also benefit both employees and employers.
