ST.
PETERSBURG, Fla. - A sex offender targeting an 11-year-old girl through
her Facebook page incriminated himself after sending nude pictures to
the account, unaware that the child’s mother was posing as the girl.
St. Petersburg officials say the mother discovered that her daughter had a Facebook profile she didn’t know about, and she noticed a strange adult male, identified as Michael Bradley, had posted a message for her child.
She decided to respond to the man through a borrowed cell phone, posing as her 11-year-old daughter. Bradley reportedly texted the mom back and said he didn’t send the message, and claimed it was his 15-year-old brother. More messages were sent to the phone asking for a meeting.
The messages continued and grew more provocative. He even texted he wanted the child to have his baby, police said.
An investigation occurred, but due to the lack of information, an arrest couldn’t be made.
A few days later she got a text asking that the 11-year-old send a picture of herself. The mother took a photo of a child from a magazine and sent it to the suspect.
He then asked for pictures of the 11-year-old’s genitals, at which point the mom wrote back and said he needed to send one first. The suspect then texted an inappropriate picture and the mom called police.
The suspect later admitted to sending the pictures and texts and he was taken into custody.
