A Lake County couple has created a safe haven for survivors of human trafficking.
Pat and Mary Ann Manzo started the home in Central Florida to help women rescued from human trafficking.
They said it's a widespread business that many people do not realize even exists in the U.S. or Central Florida.
Pat Manzo said Florida is among the top three states for human trafficking.
Sometimes Manzo said parents sell their children for sex. Sometimes the victims are snatched.
It's a nightmare scenario that Drew Kesse told News 13 he think happened to his daughter, Jennifer Kesse.
Jennifer has been missing for five years.
Her father said all signs point to her being trafficked.
Run For Freedom held banquet and fundraiser Friday night at the First United Methodist Church to raise awareness of human trafficking.
